The department was founded in the structure of Ege University at the beginning of 1974-1975 Education Process, and it is the first school involved in teaching and training in the Bachelor Degree contextualized in its field with a 37 year of historical background. Our school first took place in the structure of Dokuz Eylül University in 1982 then of Adnan Menderes University in 1992. Having moved from Aydın since the beginning of 1996-1997 Education Process, it has been continuing teaching and training activities in Kuşadası. Our students receive an EFL Preparatory School courses for one year. The courses are given in the School of Foreign Languages in Aydın. In our school, in addition to the Department of Food and Beverage Management, there are the departments of Hotel Management,Travel Agency Management and Tour Guiding. In each of the four departments, the education period lasts five years including prep courses. Students are accepted with respect to the following criteria: *Tour Guiding Department:Linguistic 1 pt. *Other Departments:YGS 6 pts. Starting from the first year ,our students are taught one of the four optional Second Foreign Languages such as German, French,Japanese or Russian.
History
Our school, founded as a Two Year Degree Course Programme in the structure of Faculty of Economics and Commercial in Ege University,was scheduled as a Four Year Degree Course Programme in the 1977-1978 Education Process. Later, with the decision of the judgement decree under the force of law of numbered 41 published in 1982 about the Organization of Higher Education Institutions, our school joined Dokuz Eylül University under the name of School of Aydın Tourism and Hotel Management. Finally, with the accompanying 8/b article of the law numbered 3837 dated 03.07.1992, the name was changed into as School of Tourism and Hotel Management and joined the recently founded Adnan Menderes University. In the year of 2011, with the decision taken in the related Board Meetings,the presidencies of departments were formed in the School of Tourism and Hotel Management. In this context,in the 2011-2012 Education Process,the department was put into action with its six appointed academicians.
Mission
To become a prestigious department admitted by the sector and academic community by the light of scientific studies carried out in the field of Food and Beverage and the quality of the students who have once received education.

We aim at being an Employment Guaranteeed Department.
Purpose
The main objective of the department is to train qualified staff to work in the middle and upper level administrative units who speak a foreign language, are equipped with the knowledge of fundamental administration, have a good command of the body of Food and Beverage Sector and administration, have knowledge and skills required for administrating these sectors are capable of finding out the problems and their reasons and bringing solutions.
Physical Infrastructure
Our School Campus is composed of 1 six-storey building for administration and academic staff,2 buildings with classrooms,1 Conference Hall,and 1 Hotel Simulator Complex. In the buildings with classrooms, there are 13 Classrooms,1 Conference Hall,8 Administrative Offices 1 Cafeteria,1 Table D’hôte Restaurant,1 Food and Beverage Lab,3 Computer Labs,and 1 Library (ready to meet all sorts of needs). In the Administrative Building, there are 3 Administrative Offices, 8 Classrooms, 1 Computer Lab and 1 Cafeteria. In the establishment process of the Department of Food and Beverage Management,there are 3 Labs; one with 60 computers,one with 30 computers and one with a full Internet Service. *Computer Labs where there is computer facility for each student. *A Library with a full Internet Service. *Classroom plenty enough for teaching. *Vocational Computer Softwares. *Data,Projection and other contemporary educational tools and instruments to carry out the courses practically.
