Objectives of the Course

Recognize the basic health sociological concepts and theories, To learn the founders of helath sociology and their perspectives, To learn how a sociological research is done, To gain a systematical way of thinking on social conditions and events.

Course Content

Fundamental concepts and theories of sociology, The perspectives and methods of founders and pioneers of health sociology, Social changes emerging in globalization process, effects of health, Social class, status and social mobilization, Risk society, consumption society, network society, surveillance society, Social control mechanisms.
