Curriculum and Instruction Master - Regular Education
Education System
"Second Cycle Programme with Thesis" lasts 2 years one of which is for courses and the second one is for thesis. The first year for courses contains 2 full time course days.
Terms of Exchange and Transition Programs
Graduate students who have completed at least one semester at a second cycle program in an equivalent institute of any higher education institution can be accepted to graduate programs.

Master of Science (M.S.) in the field of Curriculum and Instruction
Specific Admission Requirements
Having graduated from the Faculty of Education, having undergraduate grade point average at least 60 , having foreign language (English) score of at least 40 in officially recognized testing systems.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning
The applications of students graduating from other higher education institutions inland or abroad are evaluated and determined once for all his/her education by the board of directors of the related unit in one week.
Profile of The Programme
It is aimed for academicians, administers, teachers and researchers studying in the field of teacher training and curriculum development and instruction to reach the information which they need for their professional development. Some of the topics studied in the program are those: Learning and Teaching Theories, Thinking Education, Human Rights and Democracy Education, Teacher's Competencies and Qualifications, Cooperative Learning, Classroom Management, Educational Administration, Comparative Education, Informal Education, Critical/Reflective/Creative Thinking, Contemporary Learning Theories, Drama in Education and Instructional Planning in various fields. The department has 12 faculty members: 2 professors, 1 associate professor doctor, 4 assistant professor doctors, 1 lecturer and 4 research assistants.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Those graduating from Curriculum and Instruction master's program while working in any private or public organization can be appointed for a higher position or be useful as an expert. Those graduating from curriculum and instruction master program and not working any institution or organization are employed for any position in various educational institutions. If they meet the necessary conditions, they can be employed as an academic personnel by universities.
Access to Further Studies
Graduates who successfully completed the Master's Degree may apply to doctorate (third cycle) programmes in the same or in related disciplines proving that they have got necessary points from "Selection Exam for Academic Personnel and Graduate Studies" and language and then they can be accepted for third cycle.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each course is assessed via a midterm exam, and a final end-of-term exam, with contributions of 40%, and 60% respectively. The marking is made out of 100. Class participation, assigments such as research papers and class presentations can count partially or wholly for mid-term or final exam. A student has to get minimum 70 point in a course to pass the the course. Master Degree 90-100 = AA = 4.00 85-89 = BA = 3.50 80-84 = BB = 3.00 75-79 = CB = 2.50 70-74 = CC = 2.00 0-69 = FF = 0.00
Graduation Requirements
Completing minimum 21- local credits (60 ECTS) courses; preparing an original thesis and presenting the thesis before the jury successfully.
