Programme Outcomes
1.Gains and applies sufficient technical knowledge and skills about the classification, planning, project design, installation, equipment and automation of greenhouses.
2.To have knowledge about botanical, agronomic, morphological, physiological and biochemical characteristics of vegetables, fruits and ornamental plants grown under cover.
3.To have knowledge and experience about the propagation techniques of vegetables, fruits and ornamental plants grown under cover.
4.Understand and apply the climate and soil requirements of plant species grown under cover and different cultivation techniques.
5.Learns and applies all cultural practices applied in the production phase of plant species grown under cover.
6.Recognizes the diseases and pests that cause economic loss in plants grown in greenhouse agriculture, learns the form of damage, learns and applies agricultural control methods
7.Vegetables, fruits and ornamental plants grown under cover of the species belonging to the harvest and post-harvest operations to be learned and applied.
8.Learns the pesticides used in Plant Protection, their effective use, their negative effects on humans and the environment.
9.Understands the importance of good farming activities in greenhouse farming and learns good farming application techniques and principles.
10.To be aware of systems, alternative energy sources and practices that will improve the protection of producers, the environment and natural resources in greenhouse agriculture.
11.Evaluates the information obtained in the learning process with cause-effect relationships; collects relevant data and transfers the results to practice, predicts where, when and why information will be needed.
12.Recognizes the business world, different sectors and the requirements of these sectors in the field, gains the ability to comply with professional, cultural and social ethical rules and to be entrepreneurial.
13.Have sufficient awareness of the universality of social rights, social justice, quality and cultural values, environmental protection, occupational health and safety.
14.Uses information and communication technologies together with the computer software required by the field.
15.To have the necessary experience, knowledge and equipment to work as qualified personnel in the public and private sectors related to greenhouse agriculture, to carry out a study individually or as a team member and to have knowledge about the legislation related to the field and to make career planning.
