Objectives of the Course

To ensure that students use Turkish correctly, effectively and understandably, to acquire basic diction elements such as correct use of voice, stress, intonation and articulation, and to develop their skills in speaking in front of a crowd and expressing their thoughts in an orderly manner.

Course Content

It aims to ensure that students use Turkish correctly, effectively and understandably. Diction skills such as correct breathing, effective use of voice, emphasis, intonation, and articulation are acquired. Public speaking skills are developed; speaking anxiety is reduced. Necessary techniques for successful and confident expression in oral presentations are taught.

1.The definition of diction, its importance and the basics of verbal expression are understood.
2.Learns proper breathing techniques and voice use.
3.Sounds are produced accurately and clearly.
4.The characteristics of the sounds in Turkish and correct pronunciation are learned.
5.Stress, intonation and melody that strengthen the meaning in the narration are used correctly.
6.Correct tempo, pause and rhythm techniques are applied for effective speaking.
7.Common speech disorders are recognized and methods of correction are learned.
8.Students make practical individual and group presentations.
9.Presentation preparation, planning and structuring skills are acquired.
10.Spontaneous speaking skills and quick thinking practice are developed.
11.Effective speaking strategies for the audience are learned.
