Objectives of the Course

To learn the principles of technical drawing and design and develop skills in this area. To learn standard drawing techniques, symbols, and dimensioning methods used in engineering projects. Furthermore, to develop the ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings and to communicate effectively in the engineering and design processes.

Course Content

To gain the ability to create accurate and detailed technical drawings that comply with technical drawing standards. Furthermore, to develop the ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately and to communicate effectively in the engineering and design processes.

Learning Outcomes
1.Be able to use technical drawing tools in accordance with their technique and draw pictures on technical drawing papers according to their size and features.
2.By learning standard line and text types, students will be able to apply line, slanted and upright writing.
3.Be able to understand projection planes, projection types and view extraction methods.
4.Be able to measure views and perspectives.
5.Understand the need and importance of sectioning and be able to select appropriate section planes.
6.Be able to make perspective drawings by looking at the views.
7.Understand surface roughness, surface treatment marks and tolerance issues and apply them on the drawing.
