Objectives of the Course

This lesson aims to teach basic concepts related to energy production, energy production systems, structure, function, and surveys.

Course Content

Fundamentals of power generation, energy resources used in the production of electrical energy, reserves, production and consumption statistics, basic concepts related to electricity generation, the classification of power plants, power plants, thermal power plants, fuels and combustion, conversions, and definitions of efficiency, steam turbine power plants, efficiency improvement methods, chimneys, cooling towers, condensers, gas turbine and combined cycle power plants, hydroelectric power plants (HPP), study of natural water resources, water turbines, HPP types and structures of main components of HPP.
