Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to examine the current technological approaches used in rehabilitation, their design and production processes, their use on patients and their effects on rehabilitation outcomes.

Course Content

Overview and historical development of rehabilitation technology, Application requirements and ethical issues in technological approaches. Robotic approaches (upper and lower extremities), Body weight support systems, Tele-rehabilitation, Virtual reality, Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) Movement analysis systems (gait, upper extremity), Neuromuscular electrical stimulation and Functional electrical stimulation
