The aim of this course is to provide students with information about the etiology, transmission routes, clinical symptoms, prevention and treatment methods of infectious diseases. It is aimed for health worker candidates to gain the skills to protect themselves from infections, take control measures and contribute to disease management.
Define the basic concepts of infectious diseases and causative microorganisms.Explain the transmission routes of infections and list the preventive measuresDistinguish the clinical features of common infectious diseases (respiratory, digestive, skin, sexually transmitted diseases, etc.).Apply infection control measures (hand hygiene, sterilization, isolation, etc.).Explain the correct use of antibiotics and the mechanisms related to the development of resistance. Interpret vaccination programs and immunization processes.
