Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to provide students with information about occupational risks that may be encountered in working life and occupational diseases that may develop due to these risks. In addition, it is aimed for students to develop protective and preventive practices within the scope of occupational health and safety and to identify risks in the workplace and produce solutions.

Learning Outcomes
1.1. Defines the concepts of occupational diseases and occupational risks.
2.2. Explains the historical development and legislation of occupational diseases in Turkey and the world.
3.3. Classifies physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic and psychosocial risks encountered in the workplace.
4.4. Recognizes and analyzes occupational risks encountered in various sectors (health, construction, agriculture, etc.).
5.5. Explains the symptoms, diagnosis, notification and prevention processes of occupational diseases.
6.6. Conducts risk assessment within the scope of occupational health and safety.
7.7. Develops awareness on protective measures and the use of personal protective equipment.
8.8. Gains critical thinking and problem-solving skills with real-life case studies.
