To teach methods for destroying microorganisms and the safe application of these methods in health services.
The Infection Control Methods course covers the physical, chemical and biological methods applied to prevent or completely eliminate the growth of microorganisms in a comprehensive manner. The course covers basic applications such as sterilization, disinfection, antisepsis, pasteurization; physical methods such as heat, irradiation, filtration; chemical agents such as alcohol, phenol, heavy metals and disinfectants; and also biological control strategies. The effectiveness of these methods, their areas of use, advantages and limitations, and their applications in the fields of health, food, medicine and laboratory are emphasized, and the aim is for students to gain knowledge and skills to prevent microbial contamination.
