Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to ensure that students recognize and internalize basic human values that play an important role in individual and social life and to learn how to transfer these values through education. It is aimed to provide students with the skills to develop behavior in line with ethical and moral principles, to think based on values, and to analyze the effects of values on individuals and society.

Course Content

Within the scope of the course; concepts of value and value education, types of values (moral, cultural, universal), individual and social functions of values, the role of institutions such as family, school and media in the transmission of values are discussed. Historical development of value education, theoretical approaches, value education in teaching programs, methods and techniques of value education are examined. In addition, students' competence in guiding in the field of value education is developed with sample activities and applications.
