Objectives of the Course

"To provide basic knowledge and awareness about infection control and prevention methods by understanding the structures, characteristics, modes of transmission of microorganisms, and their effects on human health."

It is a basic introduction that aims to provide an understanding of the general characteristics of microorganisms and their health-related effects.

• Classification of Microorganisms: Basic classification of bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites
Week 3 - Theoretical
• Structure of Microorganisms: Bacterial cell structure and basic morphological features
Week 4 - Theoretical
• Bacterial Reproduction and Development: Reproduction methods of bacteria and development depending on environmental factors
Week 5 - Theoretical
• Sterilization and Disinfection: Methods of elimination of microorganisms and application methods in health environments
Week 6 - Theoretical
• Immune System and Microorganisms: The body's defense mechanisms and response to microorganisms

• Bacterial Diseases: Main bacteria and diseases that cause infections in humans
Week 8 - Theoretical
• Viral Diseases: Common types of viruses and infections caused by them

• Fungal and Parasitic Infections: Diseases caused by fungi and parasites, transmission routes and protection routes
