Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to provide students with detailed information about the duties of the housekeeping department in the accommodation businesses, the functioning and procedures of the department, and the duties that the department must do in order to provide effective service to its customers.

Course Content

Housekeeping department, organizational chart, body care, methods to be considered in body care control, work schedule, information given to departments, room status report, missing jobs, pass key, forgotten items, orientation, motivation, training subjects, designing training according to needs

Learning Outcomes
1.To be able to explain the role of housekeeping department in hotel businesses in order to explain the importance of communication between housekeeping department and other departments of the hotel.
2.To be able to list the duties of the housekeeping department regarding room cleaning in order to develop effective labor and material usage procedures in room cleaning.
3.To be able to understand the managerial skills required for the effective management of the housekeeping department in order to be able to explain how performance measurement standards are used in terms of planning and organization in the housekeeping department.
4.To be able to comprehend the necessary information to ensure that the housekeeping department is evaluated in terms of hygiene, safety and security.
5.To be able to understand the quality studies that should be carried out by the housekeeping department in order to ensure customer satisfaction in accommodation businesses.
