Objectives of the Course

The course aims to understand the overall economic structure related to tourism , evaluate the structure of tourism in general economic understanding.

Course Content

General description of the economy , the economic structure of the overall functioning of the relationship with the general structure of the tourism economy and the impact of tourism on the economy.

Learning Outcomes
1.Explains the basic concepts related to tourism economics (supply, demand, income, cost, elasticity, etc.) and comments on them in the context of the tourism sector.
2.By analyzing the economic impacts of tourism (revenue, employment, foreign exchange inflow, multiplier effect), it evaluates its contributions to the local and national economy.
3.Analyzes the factors affecting tourism demand (price, income level, transportation, political and environmental elements, etc.).
4.By evaluating the economic outcomes of tourism investments and public policies, he/she comments on sustainable tourism.
5.Interprets data related to tourism economics and develops analytical and critical solutions to economic problems.
