Objectives of the Course

This course; The aim is to give general information about the local administration structure and the local governments in Turkey, with a focus on the central and local governments.

Course Content

Centralization and decentralization concept, the concept of local autonomy, the history of local governments in Turkey, municipalities, special provincial administrations, village administration, state and local government relations, urban and metropolitan government, local government reorganization subjects. It also causes local government entity, local government and economy, the division of services and resources between local authorities and central government are also addressed.
