Objectives of the Course

The main objective of this course is to equip students with fundamental concepts related to warehousing and inventory management within the scope of supply chain management. The course aims to provide knowledge about the organizational role of warehousing, types of warehouses, location selection, design, equipment and material selection, and the use of information technologies. Additionally, the course seeks to develop a practical perspective on stock management, control methods, and the information systems used in warehouse operations.

Course Content

This course focuses on key topics such as the importance of warehousing in the supply chain, warehouse business processes, warehouse types, and the selection and design of warehouse locations. It covers warehouse racking systems, handling equipment, information technologies, and security applications in detail. The course also provides knowledge on stock management, inventory control methods, and the information systems used in warehouse management. The aim is for students to comprehend warehousing and inventory management from a systematic and integrated perspective.
