Objectives of the Course

To enable students to acquire basic concepts and theoretical knowledge about the world economy, to question the connections between hegemony, international stability, industrialization and international trade, and to understand the relations between the crises in the world economy and the reconstruction of capitalism.

Course Content

The basic concepts of the world economy, hegemony and international stability, the relations between industrialization and international trade, the transformations in the world economy, the emergence and dissolution of the British Hegemony, the emergence and dissolution of the American hegemony, the transformations in globalization and the world economy, together with the global economic problems.
