The aim of this course is to provide students with knowledge, skills and responsibility about the biological effects of radiation, basic principles of radiation protection, ways to protect from radiation, the meaning of radiation dose units, and current basic radiation legislation.
Definition of radiation, types of radiation, radiation dose and units, effects of ionizing radiation on the human body, molecular and cellular radiobiology, early effects of radiation, late effects of radiation, genetic effects of radiation, effect of radiation on cancer, basic principles of radiation protection, employee protection from radiation , protection of patients and relatives from radiation, protection of hospital personnel from radiation, protection of the environment from radiation, design features of radiology departments, design features of rooms where ionizing radiation is used, TAEK radiation safety legislation, structure of radiation safety committees, other legal legislation regarding radiation safety, emergency plans. what to do, implementation of emergency plans, what to do in radiation accidents, causes of radiation accidents, things to be careful about, triage procedures in radiation accidents
