Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is; Gamma Camera and PET-CT imaging in classroom and hospital environments techniques and knowledge.

Course Content

Use of radiation protection and dosimeter in Nuclear Medicine Physics, SPECT and PET applications,Radiopharmaceuticals, Gamma Camera and PET / CT working principles, Gamma camera and PET / CT quality control methods, Dose calibrator and quality control methods, Bone scintigraphy, Lung Perfusion / Ventilation scintigraphy, Endocrine and Central Nerve System Scintigraphy, Urogenital System Scintigraphy, Gastrointestinal system scintigraphy, Heart scintigraphy and Cardiac stress and imaging protocols, Positron Emission Tomography (PET / CT) Applications.

Learning Outcomes
1. Define and explain the basic concepts of Nuclear Medicine Physics
2. Apply radiation protection principles in SPECT and PET applications and use dosimetry correctly.
3.Define the mechanisms of radiopharmaceuticals used in routine.
4.Performs patient preparation for imaging on gamma cameras and PET / CT devices
5.Acquires gamma camera and PET / CT images and processes evaluate image quality
6. Define and perform gamma camera, PET / CT and dose calibrator quality control tests
7.Define the indications of scintigraphic imaging of major systems and define and perform scintigraphic techniques
