Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to provide basic knowledge about the development process of cancer, etiological risk factors, classification, diagnosis, and treatment methods; to teach methods for preventing cancer at the individual and societal levels; and to create awareness, particularly regarding controllable risk factors, for developing preventive behaviors.

Course Content

This course covers the fundamental aspects of cancer's importance to public health, its mechanisms of development, and its classification. Environmental and genetic risk factors playing a role in cancer development, as well as prevention methods, are examined. Information is also provided on diagnostic methods, treatment approaches (surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy), and especially radiation therapy.
