The aim of this course is to teach the basic concepts of nutrition, to explain the properties of nutrients, to provide knowledge about healthy nutrition principles, to evaluate nutritional problems in society, to explain the importance of nutrition in obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer, and to gain the ability to recognize appropriate nutritional approaches for different diseases.
NBasic concepts of nutrition, nutrients, carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals and water, principles of healthy nutrition, nutrition problems in society, obesity and weight control, nutrition in diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer and hospitalized patients.
