Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable students to learn the basic principles of palliative care, to assess the physical, psychological, and social needs of individuals with life-threatening illnesses, and to acquire the skills to apply holistic care approaches to patients and their families.

Course Content

This course covers the concept, scope, and fundamental principles of palliative care. It examines symptom management, pain control, patient and family support, improving quality of life, and in-home palliative care services in life-threatening illnesses. Furthermore, the importance of communication, ethical principles, patient rights, and multidisciplinary teamwork in the palliative care process is evaluated.
