Objectives of the Course

To provide students with essential knowledge and skills to identify, prevent, and manage common dermatologic disorders of the foot based on skin structure and physiology, and to plan appropriate podiatric care.

Course Content

The course covers the anatomy and physiology of the foot skin, elementary lesions, dermatologic assessment, eczemas, infections (bacterial, fungal, viral, parasitic), tumors, venous and vascular diseases, mechanical injuries, and nail pathologies.

Learning Outcomes
1.Explain the structure, functions, and physiology of the foot skin.
2.Identify and differentiate dermatologic lesions specific to the foot.
3.Recognize infectious and vascular skin diseases and apply basic care principles.
4.Manage mechanical and traumatic foot lesions using podiatric approaches.
5.Distinguish conditions requiring referral and ensure patient safety.
