Objectives of the Course

The aim of the course is to provide students with a basic understanding of the neurophysiological processes and biological basis of behaviour and to understand the relationship of the nervous system and its functioning with psychological processes.

Course Content

Organization of the nervous system, neuroanatomy, structures and functions of the brain, genes and evolution, brain development and plasticity, visual system, other sensory systems, motor control and movement, biopsychological foundations of motivation, sleep and biological rhythms, biopsychology of emotions, neurophysiology of learning and memory topics are discussed.
