Objectives of the Course

The purpose of this course is providing awareness about child abuse and neglect as well as giving information about prevention and intervention methods.

Course Content

Concepts of childhood, child abuse and neglect, physical, sexual, emotional abuse and neglect; risk factors for abuse and neglect, symptoms of child abuse and neglect, consequences on children, families, societies, clinical interview with abuser, abused and neglected child and family; abuser; legal issues for the protection of children, child protection system and institutions in Turkey, prevention of child abuse and neglect

6. Student knows common process in child protect systems and organisations in Turkey
7.Student knows child abuse prevention studies and applications at a baseline level.
