Objectives of the Course

The main purpose of the course is to provide introductory level information about the scope, boundaries, basic concepts, application areas of forensic psychology, which is a sub-branch of psychology, and current practices regarding the judicial system and the field of forensic psychology in Turkey.

Course Content

It is aimed to get to know the field of forensic psychology, to learn the study subjects in the field, as well as the current practices and current developments in Turkey through case examples. It includes introductory level information about basic forensic psychology topics such as victim, victim rights, victim interview techniques, child abuse and neglect, crime and crime theories, criminal profiling, criminal liability, and the legislation and justice system in the field of forensic psychology in Turkey.

Learning Outcomes
1.Have knowledge of the basic concepts and topics of forensic psychology.
2.Gain information about the practices and current situation in the field of forensic psychology in Turkey.

4.Have basic knowledge of forensic reports and social investigation reports written in the field of forensic psychology.
5.Have the knowledge to function at a basic level in the current justice system in Turkey.
6.Victim and vulnerable groups gain information.
7.Gains awareness about interviewing and approaching the victim.
