Objectives of the Course

The aim of the course, to teach to students technical drawing of ancient pottery.

Course Content

Information will be given about the place and importance of ceramics and ceramic drawing in archaeological science. Methods for obtaining cross-sectional, profile and decoration drawings of fragmentary and fully preserved vessels will be explained and these will be demonstrated practically on the material.

1.To be able to recognize the forms of ancient pottery
2.To be able to understand the stance positions of vessel fragments
3.To be able to draw the section and the profile of the pottery
4.To be able to complete the missing sections of pottery on the drawing
5.To be able to realize the technical drawing of the pottery by the different tools
