Objectives of the Course

To educate students who can translate and analyze Latin texts.

Course Content

Latin grammar is taught. Texts are translated from Latin to Turkish.

1.Students, who learn Latin, can also study on Archaeology, History, Philosophy, History of Art, Sociology, on the basis of documents.
2.Learning Latin grammar.
3.Epigraphy is studied.

First Conjugation: Present Indicative, Infinitive Active.
Week 3 - Theoretical
First Declension: Nominative and Accusative Cases.
Week 4 - Theoretical
First Declension: Genitive and Dative Cases.
Week 5 - Theoretical
First Declension: Ablative Case. Ablativus Instrumenti. Prepositions.
Week 6 - Theoretical
Second, Third and Fourth Conjugations: Present Indicative, Infinitive Active.
Week 7 - Theoretical
Transitive verb; Intransitive verb. Praesens Historicum.
Week 8 - Theoretical
Second Declension: Nouns in -us and -um.
Week 9 - Theoretical
Second Declension: Nouns in -er.
Week 10 - Theoretical
Vocative Case. First and Second Declensions: Irregularities.
Week 11 - Theoretical
First and Second Declension Adjectives in -us. Gender.
Week 12 - Theoretical
First and Second Declension Adjectives in -er.
Week 13 - Theoretical
