Objectives of the Course

To investigate the burial rituals and grave types of societies, to examine the similarities and differences between burial traditions and grave types between periods.

Course Content

Dead burial traditions are examined in terms of similarities and differences according to periods and regions, burial types, grave types, burial practices, rituals and grave gifts. The aims of death cults and rituals and the interaction between societies are emphasized.
