Name of Lecturer(s)
Assoc. Prof. Özlem Sultan ASLANTÜRK
Learning Outcomes
1.Students learn the structures and functions of cell, cell organelles and nucleic acids
2.Students will be able to associate mitosis with cytotoxicity.
3.Students learn the concepts related to cytotoxicity, environmental factors, physical, chemical and biological agents that cause cytotoxicity.
4.Students learn cell death patterns (apoptosis, autophagy, necrosis).
5.Students learn the use and importance of cell culture methods.
6.Students learn the definition and classification of cytotoxicity tests, the issues to be considered in the selection of the test to be used in determining cytotoxicity.
7.Students learn dye exclusion tests, colorimetric, fluorometric and luminometric tests and the advantages and disadvantages of these tests.
8.Students learn how to determine apoptotic and necrotic cells microscopically by fluorescent staining methods.
