To teach the basic information about cytotoxicity, its importance and methods of determining cytotoxicity
Definition of cytotoxicity, environmental factors causing cytotoxicity, importance of cytotoxicity, tests and principles

| 1. | Students learn the structures and functions of cell, cell organelles and nucleic acids |
| 2. | Students will be able to associate mitosis with cytotoxicity. |
| 3. | Students learn the concepts related to cytotoxicity, environmental factors, physical, chemical and biological agents that cause cytotoxicity. |
| 4. | Students learn cell death patterns (apoptosis, autophagy, necrosis). |
| 5. | Students learn the use and importance of cell culture methods. |
| 6. | Students learn the definition and classification of cytotoxicity tests, the issues to be considered in the selection of the test to be used in determining cytotoxicity. |
| 7. | Students learn dye exclusion tests, colorimetric, fluorometric and luminometric tests and the advantages and disadvantages of these tests. |
| 8. | Students learn how to determine apoptotic and necrotic cells microscopically by fluorescent staining methods. |
