Objectives of the Course

In the light of evolutionary mechanism this course aims to compare the structure of skeleton, anatomy and morphologic structure of vertebrates from fishes to mammals

Course Content

General concepts, comparative anatomy of the skin and skeletal system, comparative anatomy of the Digestive, Muscular, Circulatory, Reproductive, Excretory and Nervous systems, skin and its derivatives, pholidosis characteristics in reptiles and methods of using them in taxonomy.

Learning Outcomes
1.Understands the history and terminology of Morphology and Anatomy.
2.Analyzes the basic features of the Chordata phylum and its classes.
3.Recognizes the integument and its derivatives, and compares them in vertebrate animal groups.
4.Recognizes the skeletal system and compares them in vertebrate animal groups.
5.Defines the working order of the systems of vertabrate groups, and the differences between them.
