Objectives of the Course

The goal is to teach the effects of environmental factors on the feeding, development, reproduction, and distribution patterns in animal populations and to ensure the understanding of the adaptation and interactions of animals within the community and ecosystem.

Course Content

Environmental factors, types of feeding, modes of reproduction and development, distribution patterns, population growth models, population density and regulation, intra- and interspecies interactions, parasitism, predation, the concept of niche and competition. In ecosystems: nutrient cycles, food chains and webs, energy flow, and effective energy use.
