Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to teach students characteristics and the usage of the plants which are used by people.

1.Explains the concepts of Economic Botany and Ethnobotany and their relationship with each other.
2.Explains the purposes for which people benefit from plants and the effects of plants on human history with examples.
3.Recognizes food plants, gives examples of food plants, and explains the purposes for which people benefit from food plants.
4.Recognizes Spicy and Stimulant plants, gives examples of these plants, and explains the purposes for which people use these plants.
5.Recognizes industrial plants, gives examples of these plants, and explains the purposes for which people benefit from these plants.
6.Recognizes ornamental plants, gives examples of these plants, and explains the purposes for which people benefit from these plants.
7.Recognizes medicinal plants, gives examples of these plants, and explains the purposes for which people benefit from these plants.
8.Recognizes Secondary Metabolites, explains the relationship between Alternative Medicine and Modern Medicine, explains the advantages and disadvantages of Alternative Medicine with examples.
