Objectives of the Course

To establish a scientific basis for understanding carbon compounds, to learn the methods of obtaining functional groups and their chemical behavior with their mechanisms, to perform structure analysis from spectral data.

Course Content

Development of concepts of molecular structure (such as isomers, tautomers, resonance, nomenclature and qualitative analysis) and treatment of stereochemistry, alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, alkyl halides, alcohols and ethers.
