Objectives of the Course

Reinforcing the principles of spectroscopic, electrochemical, and chromatographic analysis methods through practical applications

Course Content

Providing basic-level knowledge of using instrumentation for chemical analyses in chemical and biochemical research and routine analysis laboratories.

Learning Outcomes
1.Student performs wavelength scanning in spectrophotomers and explains the importance of wavelength determination.
2.Student observes the impact of the interference on analysis.
3.Student applies working curve and standard addition quantitation methods
4.Student recognize and take measurements with a glass electrode and an ion selective electrode.
5.Student explains the principle of conductometric measurements and uses a conductometer.
6.Student recognizes and uses an atomic and molecular absorbance spectrometry device
7.Student recognizes and uses Luminescence spectrometry instrument.
8.Student recognizes the Polarimeter device and performs an analysis using this device.
9.Student uses an infrared spectrometry instrument and interprets an IR spectrum.
10.Student uses a High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) instrument and explains the principle of chromatographic separations.
