Objectives of the Course

To ensure that students understand the basic concepts of chemical kinetics; to provide in-depth information about a wide range of kinetic processes, primarily reaction rate, reaction degree, mechanism analysis, molecularity, activation energy.

Course Content

To inform students about the basic concepts of chemical kinetics, reaction rate, degree, mechanism, molecularity, activation energy, evaluation of kinetic data, theoretical determination of reaction rate, gas phase reactions, solution reactions, collision theory, catalysis, homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, complex reactions, polymerization reaction kinetics

Learning Outcomes
1.Defines basic concepts in chemical kinetics
2.Defines reaction rate, order, mechanism, molecularity. Calculates reaction rate equation, reaction rate constant and reaction order.
3.Explains activation energy, makes related calculations.
4.Uses and evaluates kinetic data, knows differential and integral methods
5.Knows and applies the methods of finding reaction order.
6.Defines catalysis and gives examples of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis.
7.Explain the polymerization reaction kinetics
8.Knows photochemistry, light absorption, Lambert-Beer law.
