Objectives of the Course

• To provide students with a knowledge of the theoretical approaches in urban sociology and current trends in urban theory • To make them understand urbanisation processes and the Dynamics that this process creates in the World and in Turkey • To analyse urban structure in Turkey in terms of social, cultural, economic and political perspectives particularly by looking at actual sociological developments • To increase an awareness about urban environment and urban problems
