Objectives of the Course

Aim of the course is to analyze and define the great buildings of art and architectural history of Anatolia, that was built by different cultures from prehistoric times to present, in relation with socio-cultural context and their architects and evaluate their values and conservation problems.

Course Content

The course includes analysis and definition of the great buildings of art and architectural history in Anatolia such as the sanctuary area at Göbeklitepe, Hagia Sophia, Great Mosque and Hospital of Divriği, Selimiye Mosque and Complex in relation with socio-cultural context and their architects and evaluation of values and conservation problems of great buildings.

Learning Outcomes

1.	Having knowledge on architects and architectural and structural characteristics of their great buildings at Anatolia.
2.	Ability to analyze and evaluate architectural, historical, technical and artistic characteristics of great buildings.
3.	Ability to evaluate regional, historical and architectural differences of the great buildings at Anatolia.
4.	Ability to evaluate the values and conservation problems of the great buildings at Anatolia.
5.	Having knowledge on socio-cultural environment of the time of the great buildings of art and architectural history of Anatolia.
