Objectives of the Course

Introduction of the eighteenth-and nineteenth-century Turkish literature and its representatives, Sample texts to read their works and be noted on the records

Course Content

XVIII and XIX. century Anatolian area of social, political and literary situation, and representatives of the literary schools of the period, with the representatives of the features and examples of prose texts.

Learning Outcomes
1.Knowledge about political, cultural and literary situation of Ottoman Empire in the eighteenth century and make the overall assessment of the situation
2.Understanding the characteristics of the folk school of the eighteenth century and to see the reflections of the works of that period and to make comparisons with other schools of literary term
3.Nedim's life, works and literary personality, learning about the advances of knowledge and Turkish poetry
4.Prose in the eighteenth century and to have information about the properties of. recognition representatives of the eighteenth century and read and interpret the examples of works of the representatives of the eighteenth century
5.Knowledge about Seyh Galip's life, works and literary personality
6.Features of nineteenth-century Turkish literature and having information about the poets of the Encümen-i Şuara and read and interpret the examples of works of the representatives of the eighteenth centuries
