Objectives of the Course

To develop knowledge about the fields of folklore and popular culture. To enable the student to carry out a preliminary study on a folk culture subject determined by him/her by using folklore methods.

Course Content

To conduct studies on different applications of different folklore theories. Practicing through Field Study. To trace the traces of traditional products in popular cultural products. To transform popular cultural products into possible folklore material and analyze them within the social context. To help the student determine a topic in the context of folk culture and to have preliminary studies done for his/her research.

1.Gaining new knowledge and concepts in the field of folklore and folklore, and accordingly gaining the ability to perceive the relationships between knowledge and concepts in a more specific framework.
2.Gaining preliminary article writing skills
3.To gain the ability to recognize scientific methods in the field of folklore, to compile studies and to examine them in detail. Evaluating popular culture products with different disciplines
4.Deepening knowledge in the field of folklore and obtaining the knowledge and skills to carry out postgraduate studies.
5.Gaining the ability to develop professional ethics and responsibility awareness in folklore studies
6.Being able to recognize and research the culture in which one is involved
