Objectives of the Course

Developing the knowledge and skill in Turkey Turkish. Introduce the modern Turkish words according to their funtions. Explain radical of substantive verbs and their usage and structure of word groups.

Course Content

The historical periods of Turkey Turkish and its development line, the state of the language study Ural- Altaic languages and the place of Turkish language in this field, the characteristics of Turkish in this periphery; the relation between language and culture; the dioristic characteristics of Turkish words and borrowed words in terms of structure and phonetic. Word types according to their functions. Substantive verbs, their radicals and usage. Expression without justice

1. to be able to explain Turkish grammar brought from the secondary education within an academical point of view.
2.to be able to observe the phonetic differences and superiorities of Turkish language within the World languages and compare phonetic characteristics of Turkish Language.

Weekly Detailed Course Contents
Week 1 - Theoretical
The definition of language and the notion of language. Discussions on linguistics and the definitions of grammar, the sub branches of linguistics.
Week 2 - Theoretical
The languages on earth and their kinship, language families and language groups. Northern- Eastern- Western Turkish languages and their development, oral language written language.
Week 3 - Theoretical
The languages on earth and their kinship, language families and language groups. The point of institution, vocal and voiceless sounds.
Week 4 - Theoretical
Turkish vernaculars spoken and written all over the World. The definition and content of the sound the letting out a sound.
Week 5 - Theoretical
Vocals and consonants, the characteristics of vocals and consonants. Letter, alphabet and syllable.
Week 6 - Theoretical
Sound synthesises and sound. The basic sound characteristics in original Turkish words.
Week 7 - Theoretical
The basic sound alterations in original Turkish words.
Week 8 - Theoretical
The definition and content of the word, the vocal and formational structure of the word.
Week 9 - Theoretical
Word roots, root characteristics, noun and verb roots. General information about morphemes, the original characteristics of the morphemes.
Week 10 - Theoretical
Classification of suffixes: Derivational suffixes and inflectional suffixes. Noun and verb inflection suffixes.
Week 11 - Theoretical
Noun and verb construction suffixes.
Week 12 - Theoretical
Stem, ways to meet new concepts in language, new rules of word derivation. I
Week 13 - Theoretical
Auxiliary sounds, example solutions.
Week 14 - Theoretical
Verbal suffixes and their functions.
