Objectives of the Course

It is aimed to refer to the concept of the Art History, to give terminological information and to present civilizations and their arts from the Byzantine era to the present day.

Course Content

Basic concepts and terms of Art History will be explained. The architecture, crafts and decorative features of Anatolia and the areas out of Anatolia will be studied and the works will be introduced with visual materials.

1.Learn the basic concepts and theories of Art History.
2.Learn the study subjects within the scope of Art History.
3.Give information about building types, their functions, architectural and decorative elements.
4.Make period comparison in architectural, crafts and ornamentation subjects.
5.Provide detailed information about art movements.
6.Learn what movable and immovable cultural properties are and the importance of conservation awareness.
