Objectives of the Course

It is aimed in this course in brief to increase the students’ reading and understanding abilities of the printed texts in Ottoman language, and to make them get used to the complex handwriting samples.

Course Content

Classification and characteristics found in the Ottoman archives, general separation of the Ottoman documents (books and retail types of documents), whether about Mühimme books, simple document Reading and analysis IV. simple document be taught the important Ledger and analysis, informed about the complaint book, simple sample document Reading and analysis, basic document be taught the complaint book and analysis, informed about Ahkâm books, a simple document Reading and analysis of Anatolia, from simple document be taught Ahkâm Book and analysis , whether about Judge Records, simple document Reading and analysis of the sample document be taught of Court Records and analysis, informed about the classification Cevdet Prime Ministry Ottoman Archives, Cevdet-be taught a simple document from the Finance sorting and analysis etc.

6. to be able to comprehend the Ottoman Bureaucratic correspondences in the beginning of the 20th Century
7.to be able to use the archives documants in historical studies
