Objectives of the Course

It is aimed in this course to increase students' knowledge and skills on reading and evaluating complex pre-printed texts belonged to the classical and post-classical Ottoman period.

Course Content

To know, read, understand archiv documents which is one of the main and be able to use dictionary source in related to Ottoman History. To interpret, analysis the documents wiritten with Ottoman language

1.to be able to interpret the Ottoman language and writing system according to the historical periods
2.to be able to apply translation methods in texts of the archive
3.to be able to recognize the characteristics of the historical texts
4. Understands the development process of Ottoman language.
5. Understands and evaluates the etymology of Ottoman and Turkish.
