Objectives of the Course

To teach paragraph writing rules and paragraph types.

To teach description and exemplification paragraph types within common paragraph writing rules through an applied method.

Weekly Detailed Course Contents
Week 1 - Theoretical
To teach facts related to paragraph editing such as title, margin, spacing, indents and facts related to context such topic sentence, supporting sentences and conclusion sentence.
Week 2 - Theoretical
To practice topic sentence, main idea, supporting sentence with examples and exercises.
Week 3 - Theoretical
To teach cohesion and coherence, basic sentence structures and grammar rules in a paragraph and reinforce them with examples.
Week 4 - Theoretical
To teach paragraph structure of a description paragraph.
Week 5 - Theoretical
To teach and practice characteristic statements of a description paragraph and usage of adjectives by giving examples.
Week 6 - Theoretical
To teach “to be” verbs in definition and description paragraph through exercises.
Week 7 - Theoretical
To make a paragraph outline, to write a draft and to turn the draft into a description paragraph by paying attention to necessary criteria.
Week 8 - Theoretical
To make a paragraph outline, to write a draft and to turn the draft into a description paragraph by paying attention to necessary criteria.
