To introduce the basic principles of mathematical methods in physics.
Vectors, coordinate systems, vector operators, Dirac Delta function, Fourier series, eigenvalue equation, matrices

| 1. | Must be able to express the physical problems in terms of vectors. |
| 2. | Must be able to establish the relationship between the field and integral theorems. |
| 3. | Must be able to express the physical problems in matrix formulation. |
| 4. | Must be able to express the importance of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions in physics. |
| 5. | Must be able to express a physical problem in any coordinate system and be able to move from one coordinate system to another. |
| 6. | Must be able to use the Dirac Delta function in physical problems. |
| 7. | Must be able to use Gamma and Beta functions. |
