Objectives of the Course

Aim of the course is to analyze the architectural properties, plan types of Ottoman traditional houses and examine the consevation and sustainable uses of them.

Course Content

The course includes analysis and evaluation of architectural properties of Ottoman traditional houses and examination of conservation and use problems of them both in structure and town scales.

Learning Outcomes
1.Having knowledge on architecture of traditional houses and the factors such as traditional lifestyle, regional qualities affecting architecture of these houses.
2.Ability to analyze and evaluate plan types, architectural characteristics and values of traditional houses as a whole.
3.Ability to interpret regional differences of traditional houses throughout Anatolia.
4.Ability to criticize the conservation problems of traditional houses.
5.Ability to critically evaluate the values ??and conservation issues of civil architecture examples.
