Objectives of the Course

Research and introduction of evolution, planning, architecture and decoration of tombs which constitute an important part of Ottoman Period Architecture and Art.

Course Content

The students will be informed about how the Ottoman Period graves and tombs appeared, which cultures they were inspired by(Early Era, Classical Era, Post-Classical Era, Westernization Era and Late Era), with examples. Plan arrangements, architectural features, walling techniques, top layer systems, decorating programs and such will be the main topics and they will be chronogically studied. The arrangment and decoration of sacophagi, footstands and headstands of the graves in shrines will be studied.

1.Recognize the plan and architecture of the Ottoman Period Türbeler.
2.Knows about the evolution and changes of the graves according to their own eras.
3.The innovations coming out of the Ottoman Architecture and Art are inspected from the first applied examples of buildings.
