Objectives of the Course

To scrutinize the features of the Baroque Art emerged almost parallel to the Renaissance in Europe in the XVII. century and applied until the XIX. century, examine its applications and important specimens in the countries it spread, determine its place in the world art. It is aimed to define and explain shortly the place of the Rococo in the history of art which was an ornamentation understanding mostly and widespread in a short time between the years 1720 and 1760.

Course Content

To explain the definition of the Baroque Art, its emergence, the countries applied it (Italy, Spain, France and Netherlands), application characteristics according to centuries, applications in architecture and their important samples, applications in the sculpture art and their important samples, applications in the painting art and their important samples, the Rococo art.

Practices of the Baroque Art in architecture and examining the important samples in the aspects of plan, architecture and adornment features, presenting information about their architects.

Examining the plan, architectural and ornamentation features of the architectural samples built in the Baroque style (The Baroque Architecture in Italy)

Examining the plan, architectural and ornamentation features of the architectural samples built in the Baroque style (The Baroque Architecture in France)

Presenting the emergence of the Baroque Painting Art and general information on their practices, sharing what is known about their artists, examining the important samples of the Baroque Painting Art (The Baropue Painting in Italy, Michelangelo Caravaggio and Annibale Carracci)
